Every child learns differently — with their own pace, strengths, and ways of making sense of the world. I work with students one-on-one, starting from where they actually are rather than where a grade level says they should be, and building skills and confidence from there.

Whether your child needs steady support in the classroom basics, is preparing for private school admissions, or could use help with the habits and organization that make school manageable, sessions are shaped around them — with patience, consistency, and regular updates home.

I began my career as a classroom teacher in Sundsvall, Sweden — the town this practice is named for. Swedish schools taught me a way of working I've never left behind: make the room feel safe first, be clear with students about what we're working on and why, and treat a child as a whole person rather than a set of scores.

I carried that approach into every classroom since, and later into my work as a high school vice principal, where I saw how much of a student's success rides on the habits and support built around them. I also own and run a summer camp, which keeps me close to the part I love most — kids at their most themselves, learning without noticing they're learning. Sundsvall Academia is where all of it comes together, one student at a time.
